© Margrit OlsenVictoria Olsen is the author of From Life: Julia Margaret Cameron and Victorian Photography (Palgrave, 2003). She earned a Ph.D. in English literature at Stanford University with a specialization in Victorian women’s studies. She has co-edited an anthology of personal essays about the academic job market (Riverhead, 1998) and written two junior-high-school textbooks for Chelsea House Press. Her work has been published in Smithsonian Magazine, The San Francisco Chronicle, and Salon.com. She lives in Brooklyn with her family and teaches in the Expository Writing Program at New York University.
